Stavros Kasampalis was born and raised in Alexandroupoli, Greece on 1 June 1995. He began his volleyball career in 2005 in the development departments (pre-youth, youth, junior) of the club Ethnikos Alexandroupolis, of which he was a key member until 2015. Alongside, he is a core member of the team of the same club since 2013 having participated in all the official Greek and European events that Ethnikos Alexandroupolis took part in.
He has conquered with his club the 2008 Greek pre-Youth Championship, the 2011 Greek Youth Championship and the 2011-2012-2013 Greek Junior Championship. He has also, conquered the 2013 School Championship, the 2011 U21 Beach VB Championship - 2nd position and the 2012 U21 Beach VB Championship – 3rd position. He was declared twice best setter in the Greek Junior Championships and in 2015 League Cup. He was a basic member of the Youth (5 selections) and Junior (20 selections) National Men`s teams in 2012-2014 an 2014-2015, respectively.
With his actual team Ethnikos Alexandroupolis he has conquered the following positions in Volley League: 4th in 2013, 2nd in 2014, 6th in 2015, 7th in 2016 and also twice the 5th position in CEV Challenge Cup.
He is a student in the 3rd year of his studies in the Dimokriteio University of Physical Education in Thrake, Greece specialized in volleyball, while he has concluded his military service as a selected militant of Greek Armed Forces center in Thessaloniki.
He is author of the following Scientific Paper published in the Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness : ”Who jumps the highest?” Anthropometric and Physiological correlations of vertical jump in youth elite female volleyball players (2016) Pantelis Nikolaidis, Konstantinos Gkoudas, Jose Afonso, Vicente Clemente Suarez, Beat Knechtle, Stavros Kasabalis, Athanasios Kasabalis, Helen Douda, Savvas Tokmakidis, Gema TorreS-Luque.
Stavros Kasampalis has a PADI diver` s degree (2010). He has a good knowledge of English (level B2).
