Miguel Rodrigues was born in Amadora in 1993. When he was 10 years old he started to play volleyball in AD Marista. In 2004 he transferred to SL Benfica where he played for several years, having in 2009 the youth national championship, in 2011/12 the Portuguese national cup and in 2012/2013 the National Championship. In 2014 he had his first experience playing abroad, in Italy for Piacenza, where he played for two years. In 2016 he transferred to TLM – Tourcoing, in the French Pro B league. He helped the club won the championship and move up to League A, where he will play next season. Miguel is a 188-cm setter that was called for the first time to represent Portugal’s junior team in 2009, qualifying in 2010 for the 3rd round of the Junior European Championship. He showed also a great presence in the World League in the years 2014 and 2015, finishing with the presence of the final of the World League, Group 2 in 2016 and the European Qualification. A young player possesses nevertheless excellent qualities to become a setter with great future. Son of a former coach and a former volleyball player has been suffering a big evolution. With humbleness and perseverance he has become one of the good talents of the new generation. Having played in the Italian Championship, the CEV Champions League and now in the French League, he has experienced a great competitiveness which gave him a strong background for his carrier.
