Afonso Guerreiro was born in Portimao in 1994, and started to play at his hometown club, AV Portimao, at 10 years old.
In 2011 he transferred to SL Benfica, where he played for two seasons, and afterward to CV Oeiras. After, he played at AA S Mamede and this year in AJ Fonte Bastardo. The first international match, played by the 197-cm wingspiker, for the national team was in 2010 with the junior team. In 2015 he was in the roster of the men’s national team in the World League. In 2016 he helped the team in the World League and was in the European Qualification to the Euro 2017. He’s a young player with will and has had a great evolution. He is also a hard worker, in technical, tactical or physical conditioning, with a strong commitment, to whom he wants to be. Currently is an offensive player with great potential, good service and very committed in reaching the high level of performance.
