Luke started playing volleyball in 2009 for his school, Aquinas College, in Western Australia, competing in the numerous Nationals schools cup from 2009- 2012 and also took out the title of the Nationals schools cup for Honours division in 2012.  He made his first state team in Under 17’s in 2011 and the Under 19’s state team in 2012 competing in Adelaide and Melbourne respectively.  In 2012 he toured with the Australian youth team to Thailand and was also selected to tour to Vietnam with the Australian Volleyroos Senior B team to compete in the Asia cup.  Luke then got selected to go and play for the Australian Junior team, and compete in the Asian Junior Championships. At the end of 2012 Luke was offered a scholarship to the AIS in Canberra which he accepted and begun full time training for volleyball.  In 2013 Luke was selected to play for the ‘Uniroos’ team to tour Russia for the world university games.  He was also selected as part of the Men’s National Senior team, which competed in the World Championship Qualifiers and the Senior Men’s Asian championships.  He toured to numerous countries throughout the year including Brazil, Dubai, Argentina and Qatar.  In 2014

In 2014/15 he moved to Finland (Team Lakkapaa) for his first professional contract, and then joined in 15/16 VFB Friedrichshafen in Germany.
Luke played for SCC Berlin in the 16/17 season. He is the starting libero for the Volleyroos's since 2013.
