Aleksandar Atanasijević was the best youth player in the world, and this prestigious title he earned leading the Youth Boys’ National Team of Serbia to the throne at the 2009 World Championship in Italy. He won silver medal at the 2009 European Championship and the prize for the Best Spiker. With the junior men of Serbia he won bronze at the 2011 World Championship, and the award for the Best Scorer. With the Senior Men of Serbia he won the title of the European Champion in 2011 and bronze medal in 2013. He appeared also at the U-23 World Championship in 2013 and won silver medal. This 24-year-old correction player played for VC “Partizan” from Belgrade, before he moved to “Skra Belchatow” in Poland, where he stayed for two seasons. Currently he is playing for Perugia in Italy. He appears with no. 14 on the uniform, the same as one of the best players in the world in his position - Ivan Miljković. The time of Aleksandar Atanasijević is now. He is most certainly the best Serbian volleyball player, but he can further improve, which means that he is yet to become one of the greatest, what we all hope for. Last year he won silver at the World League Final Tournament in Rio de Janeiro.
