After a playing career as a setter with Buducnost Podgorica and Partizan Belgrade, the 52-yearold Montenegrin moved on to coaching, beginning with Buducnost and then taking the helm of the men’s national team of Serbia, which he led to silver medals at the 2008 and 2009 FIVB World Leagues followed by bronze in 2010. He also guided Serbia to a bronze at the 2010 FIVB World Championship and the title at the European Championship in 2011, when he was also named Coach of the Year in Serbia. Kolakovic, who has coached club teams in Serbia, Slovenia and France, replaced Argentina’s Raul Lozano as coach of the men’s national team of Iran this year
