Play of the Day: Patch dominates the point

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 11, 2017 - The FIVB World League has been a showcase for rising stars in 2017, and the USA's Ben Patch has become one of the brightest.
Patch can take over a point all by himself, and in our Play of the Day for Sunday, he does exactly that. Take a look:

Fans on social media have been impressed!

While he's likely a new name to fans around the world, Patch has been seen as a future star for the USA. He's played on various age-group national teams, and was a member of the USA's team at the 2011 FIVB Boys U-19 World Championship.

Patch has been making his mark in this year's FIVB World League. He started getting notice in Week 1 in Serbia, when he led the USA twice in scoring during what was a tough week overall for the Americans.

He then became a vital piece of the Americans getting big wins in Week 2 against Italy and Russia.

Patch's single-handedly winning a point is worthy of Play of the Day. But you also have to see this point from Tehran, where Iran gave their all to keep Argentina from winning the first set!

And this dig by Italy's Massimo Colaci was a "how'd he get to that?" moment!

Big weekend ahead next week in the FIVB World League. See you there!
