Novi Sad, Serbia, June 4, 2017 - Bram Van Den Dries scored a team high of 20 points contributing to Belgium's victory 3-1 (23-25, 16-25, 25-22, 26-28) over USA.
Sam Deroo added 18 points to the winning side profit while the USA were led by Benjamin Patch who scored a match high of 21 points and Taylor Sander (20).

Set one saw an even encounter with both teams trading points at the beginning. After the first technical timeout USA built up an 2-point advantage which they, however, lost in the late stage allowing Belgium to close out the set at 25-23.
Belgium started strongly into an early lead 10-3 in set two and kept they performance until the end closing it out at 25-16.
Set three saw another big start from Belgium but leading 5-2 the team began to take the foot off the pedal. USA did not want to be left behind and went up 16-15. They managed to to carry over this advantage until the end of the set which they won 25-22.
The outcome of set four was anyone's guess as both teams were not able to establish any significant lead. Even if USA were 23-30 up Belgium refused to give up and finally took the set 28-26.
