Thomas Jaeschke, a 2016 Olympic bronze medalist, was born in 1993 to
parents John and Danielle, who also welcomed his twin sister Jaime. Thomas and
Jaime have an older brother named Joseph. In high school in Illinois, Jaeschke
helped Wheaton Warrenville South to the 2012 national championship and was
named Chicago Area Player of the Year. He played on the 2013 U.S. Men’s Junior
National Team that competed at the FIVB World Championship. He attended college
at Loyola of Chicago, helping the team to two straight NCAA championship
victories in 2014 and 2015, when he was named the AVCA Player of the Year.
Jaeschke opted not to return to Loyola for his senior season in 2015-16 and
instead played professionally for Asseco Resovia in Poland. He made his debut
with the U.S. national team in 2015 at the NORCECA Champions Cup in Detroit. He
was also on the 2015 World League team that finished third.
