Stephen Boyer helps France become undefeated in Kazan

Kazan, Russia, June 4, 2017 - France wins the third match without a point loss on their first World League weekend. The Sunday match against Argentina finished 3-0 (25-17, 27-25, 25-22). Stephen Boyer was one of the best scorer for team France once again.

With 20 points, including 15 attacks, 4 blocks and one ace, young Stephen Boyer was the best point of his team. On Argentina’s side captain Poglajen tried his best, becoming best scorer with 11 points.

France set the tone on the court in the beginning of the first period with efficient attacks of Julien Lyneel and Trevor Clevenot. Argentina tried to respond with their own fire power of Martin Ramos but couldn’t break the atomic rhythm of Laurent Tillie’s team, which finished things off with an undisputed advantage 17-25.

Argentina opened the second set with a lack of concentration and a feast of errors brought them to a 5-8 deficit. Facundo Imhoff stepped into the court and supported by Martin Kamos managed to narrow the score 22-23. A point by point ending belonged to Kevin Le Roux who closed the set after three set balls at 25-27.

It remained a roller coaster affair in the third set as France were just one point ahead by the first TTO. Santiago Darraidou spiked off the block to clinch a slight lead 12-10. Julien Lyneel and Stephen Boyer took the weight of the attack on their shoulders and France soon moved ahead 15-19. They stayed vigilant entertaining the tribunes with a series of outstanding attacks and eventually sealed the set 22-25 and the match 0-3.
