De Giorgi thinks Poland are on the right path

Pesaro, Italy, 2 Jun, 2017 - Poland's head coach was understandably happy with his team after a four-set win against Italy on Saturday.

Poland head coach Ferdinando De Giorgi
: " I’m happy about this victory because the team is building up its own identity. Difficult matches like this confirm that we are on the right path to achieve very good results. I know my team has got skills and personality, I think tonight we demonstrated it."

Poland player Bartlomiej Lemanski: "In the first set we made too many mistakes in serving and spiking. This is a very good result for us because we did our best. I was surprised to see so many Polish supporters here in Pesaro, I hope they will join us tomorrow as well. We have already played against Iran 3 weeks ago, so we know how to approach the match. It won’t be easy but I hope we will win."

Italy head coach Gianlorenzo Blengini: "We struggled in receiving, starting from the first set. Even if we won it was
difficult for us because they served very well. On the contrary we made too many mistakes in serving and we couldn’t find the right rhythm during the match."

Italy player Simone Giannelli: "Poland showed a very good level of volleyball and it was quite difficult for us to contrast them. We suffered their serving that was strong and continuous; playing with an imprecise ball is always difficult. We need to improve our ability to help each other in difficult moments. Today we didn’t manage to do it completely."
