Renan Dal Zotto: "We knew it was going to be a difficult match."

Pesaro, Italy, 4 Jun, 2017 - Brazil played their best match of the weekend when they beat home side Italy in a tightly-contested four-setter on Sunday.

Brazil head coach Renan Dal Zotto: “We knew it was going to be a difficult match, both of the teams could have won the third set. I am happy about the result but most of all, I am happy about the visible evolution of my team. We must build up self-confidence and we need to put in practice what we do during the trainings.”

Brazil player Ricardo Lucarelli: “After the first match we improved a lot, with Iran and most of all today against Italy. After Rio 2016, it was good playing against Italy again today. The two aces I made in the third set? The first one, was a strong serve, the second one was a stroke of chance.”

Italy head coach GianLorenzo Blengini: “I am sorry about the final result, but most of all about the third set. They were very good in serving but I think the Azzurri deserved to get to the tie break: they showed personality and dedication against an excellent team. Italy demonstrated constancy in defense and serving even when we were behind.”

Italy player Oleg Antonov: “It was a challenging match, we did our best but something was missing on court. Against Brazil we are under pressure in receiving and defending. I am sorry because we could have got to the tie break, and maybe something could have changed.”
