Argentina's Facundo Conte has been top scoring for defending champions Shanghai in the first two matches as the 2016-17 China League gets underway.
Lausanne, Switzerland, November 10, 2016 - Facundo Conte, who led Argentina to 5th place at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and Gyorgy Grozer, who decided to take time off from the National Team after Germany failed to qualify for Rio, have been the driving force of defending champions Shanghai Golden Age at the start of the China men's League.

Latest VideosFacebookTwitterInstagramMedia Guides Conte, who moved to China after three seasons in Poland, was Shanghai's top scorer in their first two matches, when they beat Hubei twice, 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 26-28, 25-16) away and swept 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-22) at home. He scored 20 points in the first game and 10 in the second.
Grozer, who came to China after a season with Korea's Samsung Bluefangs, missed the first game, but scored 8 points in the second, where he started in the first two sets.
Conte and Grozer are amongst eight foreign players this season the men's League of China. Other international stars include USA's Taylor Sander and Cuba's Oreol Camejo with Beijing, Cuba's Leonardo Leyva with Sichuan, Chinese Taipei's Chien-Chen Chen for Fujian, plus USA's Garrett Muagututia and Turkey's Serhat Coskun for Tianjin.
