Serbia at full strength in Curitiba as Atanasijevic returns

 

Aleksandar Atanasijevic will be one of the stars of the Final Six in Curitiba

Curitiba, Brazil, July 3, 2017 – Defending champions Serbia will be at full strength at the FIVB Volleyball World League Finals in Curitiba from July 4-8 after head coach Nikola Grbic confirmed opposite Aleksandar Atanasijevic as part of his 14-player roster for the Final Six.

The best opposite of the 2015 World League competition, Atanasijevic played in Serbia’s first three matches in the Preliminary Round this season, against the United States, Belgium and Canada, but missed the last six games. Last year, when Serbia won the title, he was sidelined during the Final Six because of an injury.



Besides Atanasijevic, Grbic has confirmed the presence of the following players in Serbia’s squad: setters Nikola Jojovic and Maksim Buculjevic, opposite Drazen Luburic, outside hitters Uros Kovacevic, Marko Ivovic, Nemanja Petric, Milan Katic, middle-blockers Marko Podrascanin, Srekco Lisinac, Petar Krsmanovic and Aleksandar Okolic and liberos Neven Majstorovic and Goran Skundric.

Serbia are in Pool K in the Finals and they will play against the United States on Wednesday (July 5) and France on Thursday (July 6). Both matches are scheduled for 17:40 (local time).
