Helsinki, Finland, June 10, 2017 – Hanna Kanasuo is currently combining her two passions at the 2017 FIVB World League – singing and volleyball.
Kanasuo corks as an Area Coordinator for the Finnish Volleyball Association, but when it comes to national team matches she is first on court to sing both the Finnish national anthem and the visiting teams.
She made her World League debut in Tampere in 2006 and since then has sung 15 other national anthems in languages as diverse as English, Portuguese, Danish and Czech.
“I look forward to the challenge of learning a new anthem,” Kanasuo said.
With Finland playing in Helsinki in the current round of World League matches Kanasuo is as busy as ever. As well as having to sing the Finnish anthem, she has also had to learn the words to the Chinese, Slovakian and Australian national anthems.
