Culafic scores 25 as Montenegro beat Tunisia

Bijelo Polje, Montenegro, June 2, 2017 - 25 points from Milos Culafic helped home favourites Montenegro prevail
in a nail-biter against Tunisia to earn a 3-2 win (18-25, 25-15, 25-19,
25-27, 15-9) on Friday.

Marko Bojic and Bozidar Cuk added 18 and 16 points for the home side, respectively, while Tunisia's top scorer, Hichem Kaabi finished the match with 12 points.



In the first set Tunisian team attacked with confidence, which caused problems for the Montenegrin team. Tunisia maintained a few-point lead from the very beginning of the set, before taking it, 25-18.



The second set saw a reversal of fortunes with Montenegro dominating the proceeding from the get-go. Home favourites snatched the set, 25-15.


Set three started off even, but it was not long before Montengro built a healthy lead, taking a 6-point advantage at the second technical time-out.  They controlled the play after that, winning 25-19.

The fourth set proved to be the most thrilling of the entire match. Montenegro took a 2-point lead at the second technical time-out, but Tunisia mounted an impressive comeback eventually winning 27-25.



Montenegro started the fifth set with a lead of 3-1, then 4-2. At the first technical time-out Montenegro had an advantage at 8-4, but Tunisia managed to come closer at 10-7. However, Montenegro stayed focused and calm and closed out the match with a 15-9 win in the final set.
