Kert Toobal is the only player who has been part of the two Estonian volleyball „Golden generations” that have flourished in the past 20 years. He was a member of 1999 FIVB Volleyball Men´s U21 World Championship team that ended in 13th place. In upcoming years players from this team at first started to shine with ESS Pärnu VC and then moved to conquer Europe. Kert Toobal has played in all three European Championships where Estonia has participated. In 2009 Estonia finished the tournament in 14th place, two years later in 12th position and in 2015 Estonia was 11th. Together with so-called second „Golden generation” Toobal won the 2016 edition of CEV Volleyball European League. Estonian´s team captain was also named the best setter of this tournament. Few months earlier Toobal was also having this kind of honor when he was named the Most Valuable Player of Pro B´s main tournament. Toobal has twice (in 2004 and in 2015) named the best male volleyball player in Estonia. During his career he has played in Finland, France, Belgium, Poland and Turkey. Before his impressive indoor achievements Toobal won together with Mihkel Roosme silver medal from beach volleyball U20 European Championship in 1998.
