Germany made an important step at the FIVB World League and defeated their competitors from Austria in a great match. It was the second success for the German team that gives them still the chance to conclude the weekend at home in first place.
Austria won the first set with a close-fought 25-22 victory, before completely losing momentum and dropping the following set, 25-16.
The following two sets were extremely close with neither team able to build a bigger lead. In the end, it was the home crowd's support which gave Germany the edge they needed to snatch both sets by 25-23 and win the match.
