Munoz: "We did not stand a chance today"

Topscorers Simon Hirsch and Christian Fromm lead Germany to a straight sets vicory against Spain

Linz, Austria, June 10 - One day after losing against Austria, Germany made an impressive comeback. They defeated Spain 3:0 (28:26, 25:15, 25:19) and took over at the top of the table.

Christian Fromm, top-scorer, Germany: "Today we had the right attitude from the beginning of the game. We wanted the win more than the Spaniards. We had a good reception and made it difficult for the Spain team to block our spikes. We have to focus on our game and avoid mistakes."

Andrea Giani, head coach, Germany: "Spain has no tall spikers like Austria. When we played fast, we were able to put Spain under big pressure. Today my team showed a good quality. It is a young team so we gain more and more experience. Our big aim is to reach the final four at Mexico. If we can show today's quality it should be no problem to secure our final four spot.”
