Wessel Keemink made his debut for the national team in May 2016. The young setter played 29 international matches since. Keemink is one of the few national team players who plays in the Dutch league. In the 2016-2017 season he played for Draisma Dynamo Apeldoorn. With his team he reached the quarterfinal of the CEV Challenge Cup. Keemink started to play volleyball at Rijnmond Schiedam.
