Robbert Andringa from Assen started playing for the national team as a passing specialist / libero, but developed to a all-round wing-spiker. Since 2009 he played 110 times for his country. In the 2016-2017 season Andringa played in the French league, for Poitiers, together with Nimir Abdelaziz. In 2011 Andringa broke his fibula and his tibia in a horrible accident during a match in the Dutch league. After his recovery he came back stronger than ever. Andringa started playing volleyball at Sudosa Assen, in the north of Holland.
