Gijs Jorna played as starting libero for the national team of The Netherlands for years, but is now active as a wing-spiker on club level. In the 2016-2017 season Jorna was playing for the French team Chaumont VB 52. With this team Jorna won silver in the CEV Challenge Cup. Since his debut against Belgium in 2010, he played 157 international matches. Jorna is known for his solid passing and defending skills. Jorna won the European League with the Dutch team in 2012. The libero started playing volleyball at VC Madjoe Enkhuizen.
