Born in Jihlava, Marek had played ice hockey for ten years to the age of 15. When he was 17 years old he decided to start play volleyball. His first team was Velké Meziříčí. Later he moved to South Moravia to Volejbal Brno a.s., where he still plays. He played the 1. Czech league with Volejbal Brno B and won it one time. He likes to read books or play some PC games.
