Helsinki, Finland, 8 Jun, 2017 - Finland coach Tuomas Sammelvuo was very satisfied with his team’s performance following a straight-set win over Slovakia on Friday.
Finland head coach Tuomas Sammelvuo: “I am happy of course, especially that we stayed very focused during the whole match. There were no lapses of concentration. We won the game in service and reception. Attacks after defence were also very great. There are still a lot of things that we can do better.”
Finland team captain Eemi Tervaportti: “It was a great team effort for us. We served very good and our side out was good too. Biggest reason for 3-0 was our service and also block and defence worked well. This was a good start for the home tournament.”

Media Guides Slovakia head coach Andrej Kravarik: “Our performance today was not enough against Finland. We had problems with everything. Finnish performance was very good, especially service was on a great level. That was the main reason why Finland beat us. We must forget this soon and clear our heads for the next game.”
Slovakia team captain Emanuel Kohut: “Congratulations to Finland. They played great match and got three points. They played very well in the serve and we had a bit of problems in reception. We can be better tomorrow.”
