Czech coach says Slovenia were good in attack and defence

Press conference of Slovenia and Czech Republic

Seoul, Korea, June 4, 2017 – Czech Republic coach Miguel Angel Falasca praised his team’s opponents after Slovenia’s 3-1 (25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 25-16) victory in Seoul on Sunday.

Miguel Angel Falasca, Czech Republic coach: We made some mistakes today and we didn’t handle some situations well. I think Slovenia played very well in both defence and offence. Their strategy was effective in blocking our guys. I respect everything they did.

Slobodan Kovac, Slovenia coach: I think we did a good job on our serves. We touched many balls and the Czechs were so high in the block. However, we played our best.

Ales Holubec, captain of Czech Republic: It is really difficult to beat a strong team like Slovenia. We made small mistakes and that is why we lost 3-1.

Tine Urnaut, captain of Slovenia: I'm happy that we won the match because it was a tough match. The Czech Republic is a physically strong team. They played well today. We had good blocks today and that is how we could win.
