Frankfurt/Main, Germany, June 3, 2017. The last match in Pool C brought another victory for Germany, who defeated the neighbours Austria 3-1 (22-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-23) and need just one more win to secure the first place in this pool.
German head coach Andrea Giani: It was an interesting match and Austria made a great game. We want to use these games to develop up our young team. After the first set I have told my players that they need more fire if they want to survive. From that point it was much better.Germany outside-spiker Ruben Schott: It was the game we expected. Austria has some players who act on a high individual level. We made too many mistakes at the beginning but it became better and better through the time. I´m just 22 years old but here I´m one of the older guys, so I try to be as good as possible in helping my younger teammates.Austria head coach Michael Warm: We have seen two young teams, delivering great volleyball
action on both sides. I think it was a good game for the spectators, but we had some problems to reward our good performance. We had a plan which didn’t work until the end where we can make it better.

Austria assistant coach and former German National Player Patrick Steuerwald: We needed to win at least two sets today. Of course, we could have done better in the end and lost the game due to our faults.
