Barcelona, Spain, June 4, 2017 - Mexico achieved their second victory in Barcelona after defeating Qatar 3:0. The hosts of the Final Round of Group 3 FIVB World League presented an efficient performance to upset hopeless Asian side.

Mexico coach Jorge Miguel Azair López: We planned our strategy very well and we could stop their best players. We still have three important games in Austria before playing the Final Four at home and I am sure that these matches will help us reach the Final round at our best level.

Qatar coach Massimiliano Giaccard: Today we had the same problems as yesterday, but for different reasons. Spain have some characteristics and Mexico play different but we could not present our top level. We tried on the second set, but when you don’t serve right, when you don’t attack right, you lose.

Mexico player Pedro Rangel: We have improved after the previous matches and we played with more intensity. We knew that Qatar is a strong team and we were ready for that. We stepped into the court with a lot of concentration and we could get the result we wanted. It is a great preparation for the Final Four at home. You can tell that the team is getting better and each one of the players have responded giving their best here. I am very happy for that.

Qatar player Renan Ribeiro: Physically it was hard for us because we did not have a lot of games of preparation. The key of the match was the reception. It was not positive all the time and our attack could not do much to help our team. We have to learn and continue our development process.
