Estonia are looking forward to their World League debut
Lausanne, Switzerland, May 6, 2017 – Estonia head coach Gheorghe Cretu has called up a squad of 17 players for what is sure to be a busy summer for the Baltic nation’s men’s team.
Firstly, they host the Italy-Bulgaria 2018, FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship CEV European Qualifier from May 24-28. Estonia will play Montenegro, Russia, Romania, Hungary and Kosovo with the aim of reaching the third and final qualifier that takes place in July.

Then, in June, Estonia make their FIVB Volleyball World League debut. They take on Chinese Taipei, Tunisia and Montenegro in the first weekend of action in Buelo Polje, Montenegro and then head home to face Qatar, Tunisia and Venezuela in the second weekend in Tallinn.
“In World Championship qualification and World League games we will play against new and very strong opponents,” Cretu said. “I hope to see that our players have gone stronger and not only physically but also mentally so that they can help the national team to a higher level than before.”
