The first set started at a fast pace with the score remaining tight until the crunchtime (22-22). Austria took the lead due to a strong service and reception faults of Kazakhstan to bring it home with three consecutive points (25-22).

As the game resumed it was the Kazakh team that surprised the spectators and Austria. Suddenly they had no problem to finish the attacks and shocked with an enormous value of 70% in the offense to close out the set 25-21.

Led by Paul Buchegger the Austrian players reacted with a lot of power in the following sets where they absolutely dominated Kazakhstan by creating power with a strong service to destroy the Kazakh reception (30%, 38%). Like yesterday against Venezuela and the day before against Germany, Kazakhstan failed to keep the performance over the whole period and lost the third game in Frankfurt.
