Slovenia see off Finland in straight sets

 

Cairo, Egypt, June 17, 2017 - Slovenia achieved a a quick win over Finland in straight sets (25-21, 25-23, 25-22) in the second day of week three of the FIVB World League group.

Alen Šket topped the scorer rankings of the match with 15 points and Tine Urnaut added 13 points while Urpo Sivula was the best scorer for Finland.



The first set started point by point until the first technical timeout. Efficient attacks from Šket and Urnaut gave Slovenia a four point gap 16-12 in the second technical time out.



The score tied again thanks after a quick attack by Finland 17-17, but Slovenia managed to win the first set 25-21. In the second set Finland took a slight advantage in the first technical time out 8-6.
Slovenia leveled the score at 12-12, Urnaut's attacks led Slovenia to the end of the set which finished in their favor of his team 25-23.



Slovenia led the third set with slight advantage, Finland didn't give up but Slovenia cruised quickly to close the set out 25-22.
