Dutch fans hope for nifty fifty as World League and World Tour draw nearer

Dutch volleyball fans are in for a treat in mid-June

Lausanne, Switzerland, April 26, 2017 – Dutch volleyball fans will be wishing the next 50 days pass as swiftly as possible to the day when they arrive at volleyball nirvana also known as Sportcampus Zuiderpark in The Hague.

Fifty days from now the Netherlands will be in the midst of a volleyball-fest the likes of which they haven’t seen since the country hosted the Netherlands 2015, FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships across four spectacular venues.

That weekend the Dutch men’s volleyball team will host Korea, Slovakia and the Czech Republic in Pool I2 of the FIVB Volleyball World League.

They start against Korea on Friday June 17, face Slovakia on June 18 and wrap up against the Czech Republic on June 19.

Across the venue beach volleyball’s world stars will be in action on day two of The Hague 3-Star Tournament in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour that runs until June 18.

It is the first time The Hague has hosted a tournament since the World Championships and the Dutch fans will out in force to cheer on their local favourites, including 2013 world champions Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen, who won gold at the Xiamen 3-Star Tournament in recent weeks.
