Lausanne, Switzerland, June 12, 2017 – USA men’s team captain Kawika Shoji and super spiker Taylor Sander get together to talk about their experiences with the USA team.
Shoji, 29, is from a famous volleyball family and plays alongside brother Erik for the national team.
Like Shoji, 25-year-old Sander is an Olympic bronze medallist and also has a brother who plays top-level volleyball.
Shoji points out that “there’s a lot of different leaders on our team” but enjoys the responsibility of being captain, despite reservations over speaking in public.
The highlight of his time with Team USA for Sander was the Olympic experience in Rio last year when he earned his bronze medal.
