Kolakovic convokes 20 players for Iran training camp

 

Serbian mentor of Iran, Igor Kolakovic, called up 20 players for the training camp in preparation for the World League, Grand Champions Cup and Asian Championship

Tehran, Iran, April 16, 2017 – Iran coach Igor Kolakovic has called up 20 players for a training camp ahead of this year's international competitions, including the FIVB Volleyball World League, FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Grand Champions Cup and the Asian Championship.

Kolakovic initially invited 14 young players for a five-day training camp. Eleven young players were chosen from the first training camp to join the nine senior players, who took some time off to recover from playing league matches. 

The 20 players will then start a 10-day training camp, where they will be reduced further to 18 players that will compete in the World League. 

Kolakovic summoned Mir Saeid Marouflakrani, Mohamad Taher Vadi, Farhad Salafzoon, Javad Hosseinabadi, Reza Ghara, Amir Ghafour, Farhad Nazari Afshar, Farhad Ghaemi, Mojtaba Mirzajanpour, Milad Ebadipour, Mohammad Javad Manvinejad, Mohammad Moousavi Eraghi, Adel Gholami, Saman Faezi, Masoud Gholami, Mahdi Marandi, Mostafa Heidari, Pourya Fayazi, Ali Shafei and Mohammad Fallah.

Kolakovic's staff includes team manager Amir Khosh Khabar, assistant coaches Payman Akbari, Dragan Kobiljski, Saeid Rezaei, and trainer Daniel Misic.

The Serbian coach talked to the players and underlined the importance of hard work in winning.

“It is my wish to win more medals with all of you,” Kolakovic said. “I want to succeed out of what you have. I know the way to win medals because I’ve done that before.
 
“Success is a process. There are no shortcuts. So, I wish to go in that direction together to be able to succeed. The important factors of success are unity, optimism, self-confidence, dedication, focus, discipline, work, work and work. I ask for your support to value these factors.”
