All agree: the Dutch outplayed the Czechs

Dutch captain Jasper Diefenbach and his teammates happy about the way things turned out in Ceske Budejovice

Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, June 10, 2017 – There was no difference in the opinion that the Netherlands managed to outplay the Czech Republic and scored a well-deserved World League win in Ceske Budejovice.

Gido Vermeulen, coach of Netherlands: "After all it was an easy game. We had good tactics, good preparation for the match and, sorry to say, the Czech Republic was not good enough today. We kept our strategy and the Czechs coud not stop us."

Jasper Diefenbach, captain of Netherlands: "I think we played very well. Starting from good reception, we could play our game. We put pressure on the Czech Republic with our floating serves and forced them to make mistakes. I am very satisfied how we played today."

Ales Holubec, captain of Czech Republic: "We knew the Netherlands are a very strong team. They were better in everything. I don’t think we played a bad match. If we had played this game yesterday against Egypt, it would have been a 3-point win, but, you know, against the Netherlands we should have shown something super special to beat them."

Michal Nekola, assistant coach of Czech Republic: "Today the Netherlands served greatly, so we had many problems in reception and then they blocked us very often. They outplayed us completely and it was a well-deserved win for them."
