World League hopefuls all advance to European Championship finals

Dirks Sparidans (left) and Robbert Andriga of The Netherlands celebrate win over Turkey that sees them through to the 2017 European Championship finals.

Lausanne, Switzerland, September 25, 2016 - The favourites all advanced as the qualification process for the 2017 CEV Men's European Championship continued over the weekend across the continent.

Germany, Finland, Belgium, Slovakia, The Netherlands and the Czech Republic - all of which will be featuring the 2017 FIVB World League - topped their pools and got direct tickets to the finals in a year's time in Poland.

Hosts Poland are already joined by the top six finishers of the 2015 edition, France, Slovenia, Italy, Bulgaria, Russia and Serbia (all also 2017 FIVB World League contenders) in the finals.

Another three places remain up for grabs in Round 3 of the qualifiers, which will be home-and-away affairs early next month, pitting Spain v Greece, Turkey v Portugal and Latvia v Estonia.

Full details, reports and statistics are available on the European Confederation website.
