Petar Krsmanović serve as the best proof of a player who reached the national team playing for the small club in the domestic league. He got his reputation playing for VC “Djerdap” from Kladovo, team from the First Division that was promoted to the Wiener Stadtische Superleague of Serbia.
Already in their debut season in the elite division, the team from the City of Kladovo qualified to the CEV Cup, with Petar being the key player in the line-up. He further improved over the years, so former head coach Kolaković decided to give him a chance to join the national team for the 2014 World League preparations.
Meanwhile, Krsmanović’s contract with VC “Djerdap” expired, and he moved to Montenegro’s champions VC “Budvanska Rivijera”, where he got the chance to play in the Champions League and proved his quality entering the dream team of the week in December 2014. Last year he made his first appearance in the World League playing 2 matches for the senior men’s team of Serbia. He is comming to the national team this year with the experience from the Argentinian championship, where he played for UPCN Volley Club.
