USA coach John Speraw – “I am obviously disappointed, but happy that we were playing a great volleyball and still kept our heads up and fought really hard. We almost took that match not playing our best volleyball. In the third set we really struggled the side-out even if we were passing much better. So we have to go back and learn from that and see if we can play better tomorrow against Poland. We appreciate the Polish fans, we love playing here. We are grateful to be here and look forward to play against the home team.”

USA captain Kawika Shoji – "It was a big fight. It’s disappointing, because we gave everything to this match, we didn’t have our best level of play, but we were fighting together to the very end and Russia was little bit better by few points. But I am proud of my team, we are always giving a maximum effort, being positive, just we didn’t have our best game. We will watch today’s match of Poland and try to learn about them. It’s always fun and excitement to play against Poland in Poland, it’s a special experience. We love the Polish fans, it’s fun to play here, we expect a big fight again and hopefully it will be a great match.”

USA outside hitter Taylor Sander – “Russia is a big team. We never stop fighting, we were very close, so we will learn from it and will get ready for Poland tomorrow. They served good with really tough floaters, they have a really big block, maybe we should make better decisions, but we were giving our best.”
