Focus key for unbeaten France

France celebrate making four wins from four in the 2017 World League

Pau, France, June 9, 2017 – France maintained their good form in the 2017 FIVB World League when they defeated Russia 3-1 (25-12, 22-25, 25-21, 25-18) on Friday.

It means they have now won four matches from four, with clashes against Italy and USA to come in round two of matches.

Benjamin Toniutti, France captain: “It’s a great victory tonight against Russia. I think they were determined but we stayed focused during the whole match, even after losing the second set when their setter came on and made a difference. It's a great three-point victory. We must go on this way.”

Laurent Tillie, France head coach: “It was a tough game. They wanted revenge after losing to us last week. They served well, but we held our focus after the loss of the second set. Thibault Rossard gave a lot of energy when he came on and the team is young and its energy and spirit is amazing.”
