Boyer was outstanding, admits France coach Tillie

France celebrate

Antwerp, Belgium, June 17, 2017 - France played almost without mistakes to take a comfortable victory 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-21) over Canada.

France coach Laurent Tillie: My team played very well today. Almost without mistakes, very intelligent. This team is a perfect mix of young players and experienced players. Yesterday I was not happy at all, but today I have to compliment my team. Especially Stephen Boyer was outstanding.

France player Stephen Boyer: I felt great today, and it was nice to play with the national selection. All the time we had control over Canada. I am happy to be part of this team. I was a Junior player when France ended third in the European Junior Championships. I play in Chaumont (Pro A France). I want to build my career step by step. But my volleyball dreams are big for the future.

Canada coach Stéphane Antiga: This game turned into a deception for us after our victory against Belgium. Every loss is a deception in this competition, but today we were completely dominated by the French side. Yet, we’re still on track for a place in the Final 6.

Canada player Stephen Maar: France played a very well organised game, they never gave us the opportunity to execute our own game plan. Luckily we still have chances to qualify for he Final 6. We want to secure that berth as quickly as possible tomorrow against Italy.
